The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Pro Bowl drought came to an end when Trevor Lawrence and return specialist Jamal Agnew were chosen as alternates for the 2022 edition. However, you could make the case the Jags had more players deserving of the honor.

After all, the Jaguars were one of the most exciting teams to watch in the second half of the 2022 season and many of their players went on to either set new career highs or break team records.

So which Jaguars player besides Lawrence and Agnew should make the Pro Bowl in 2023? Before we get started, tight end Evan Engram was not included because he hadn’t re-signed with the Jags yet as of this writing but he should also have a good chance of making the Pro Bowl. Without further ado, here are four Jaguars who should be next in line.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars player in line to make the Pro Bowl: Brandon Scherff

The biggest question surrounding the addition of right guard Brandon Scherff last offseason wasn’t the top-market contract he signed. After all, players are worth what teams are willing to pay them and the Jaguars were comfortable giving him a three-year deal worth $49.5 million. Instead, the issue was whether he would be able to appear in all 17 games, having last played a full season in 2016.

Scherff ended up starting every single game last year, and he did so while dealing with an abdomen injury in the second half of the season, which makes the feat even more impressive. The former Iowa Hawkeye had a couple of rough outings but performed well for most of the year and brought stability to the right guard position.

If Scherff can manage to stay healthy and avoid missing significant time, he should have no trouble getting the sixth Pro Bowl designation of his career.
