1. The Jacksonville Jaguars must advance to the AFC Championship Game

You will have a hard time finding a fan who’s not pleased with how the Jaguars’ season ended. Would it have been sweet if they had beaten the Chiefs in the playoffs? You bet. But they exceeded in 2022 expectations and beating the Chargers in Wild Card Weekend was the cherry on top.

Following the Urban Meyer debacle, most analysts around the league expect Jacksonville to win five or six games in 2022. Those that predicted them to finish 9-7 did so based on potential but it wasn’t a given that they were going to show so much improvement in Doug Pederson’s first year at the helm.

The fact that the Jags lost five straight games after starting 2-1 didn’t inspire much confidence in those that thought they were going to have a solid year. Similarly, Trevor Lawrence got off to a strong start but made costly mistakes in losses to the Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos.

Coincidentally, their loss to the Broncos was somewhat of a turning point for both Jacksonville and the Jaguars, who went 7-2 in the second half of the season. Moving forward, the team needs to work on the mistakes that held them back last season and build on the success they had.

Having the same core of playmakers and most of the same coaching staff should help the Jaguars return to the playoffs and advance to the Conference Championship for the first time since 2017.
