Jaguars vs. Titans: 5 bold predictions for winner-takes-all-game in Week 18
2. The Jaguars will keep Titans QB Joshua Dobbs under 200 yards
You’ve got to hand it to Titans quarterback Joshua Dobbs. A fourth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017, he had been waiting for a chance to show what he could do and he got last week against the Dallas Cowboys. The former Tennessee Volunteer went 20-of-39 for 232 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Dobbs is now set to start the second game of his career and the stakes couldn’t be any higher. Although the Jaguars will make it a top priority to stop Derrick Henry, they won’t take Dobbs lightly.
If the Jacksonville defense can take Henry away and force Tennessee to become one-dimensional, Dobbs’ job will become substantially harder time. This approach worked in Week 14 when Ryan Tannehill was the starter.
1. Trevor Lawrence will throw 3 TDs vs the Titans in Week 18
The Jags have gotten a little more attention and praise from the national media in recent weeks but Trevor Lawrence knows the job isn’t done. In fact, he wants to prove to everyone they have been sleeping on the Jags.
Against the Texans in Week 17, Jacksonville didn’t need Lawrence to have a great game to beat their division foes and instead leaned on their defense and their running game. This is different though. With the playoffs and the AFC South title on the line, the Jaguars’ offense will be firing on all cylinders.
Houston’s defense ranks 31st in passing touchdowns allowed in the league and dead last in passing yards allowed. Lawrence will take advantage of the matchup and throw for three touchdowns.
