Jaguars vs. Titans: Best prop bets for ‘winner-takes-all-game’ in Week 18
The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to face the Tennesee Titans in Week 18. With the playoffs and the division title on the line, there’s no doubt this is going to be one of the biggest games in team history.
Sure, the Jags have played in three AFC Championships but this game is the culmination of what’s been an amazing turnaround. Just a year ago, Jacksonville was looking for the right head coach to rebuild the team following the Urban Meyer debacle.
The Jaguars ended up hiring Doug Pederson for the job and even though he said there was plenty of work to do and this wouldn’t be a one-year rebuild, he’s played a big role in putting the team in a position to make the playoffs and win the AFC South crown in just his first season at the helm.
Whether the Jags beat Tennesse or not, this season has been a resounding success. Having said that, it’s hard to see Jacksonville stopping now and losing in Week 18. With that in mind, here are three prop bets for the “winner-takes-all’ showdown at TIAA Bank Field.
Jaguars vs. Titans: 3 prop bets you might like for Week 18
3. Trevor Lawrence, over 264 passing yards (-115)
Trevor Lawrence has shown the ability to take over games but there have also been times when he doesn’t have to do much to help the Jaguars win games. One such case was against the Houston Texans in Week 17, when he threw just 152 yards.
The Jags should lean more on Lawrence in the finale. Tennesee ranks 31st in passing touchdowns allowed and 32nd in passing yards in the league. Jacksonville will try to set the tone early, so they might go pass-heavy early in the game.
2. RB Travis Etienne, over 65 yards (-110)
Running back Travis Etienne went off on the Texans, racking up nine yards for 108 yards in the first half, and he should have another productive outing in Week 18. As previously stated, the Jags will pass often but they will also try to mix things up and will get Etienne involved.
Even though he only averaged 1.8 yards per carry against the Titans in Week 14, he kept getting the ball. It shouldn’t be any different this time around.
1. WR Christian Kirk, over 5 receptions (-155)
Although wide receiver Zay Jones and tight end Evan Engram have been featured more in recent weeks, Christian Kirk remains the top target in the Jaguars’ offense. He hasn’t had a 1,00-yard game since Week 13 but that’s because opposing defenses have zeroed in on him.
But even with all the extra attention, Kirk managed to post career highs for catches in a season (78) and receiving yards in a season (1,009). He has hauled in five receptions or more this season. Given that the Titans struggle to defend the pass, there’s a good chance Texas A&M product will end with catches or more in Week 18.
