The Jacksonville Jaguars will play for the AFC South title in the season finale but before they face off against the Tenessee Titans, they must take care of business against another division foe, the Houston Texans.

Whether the Jags win or lose in Week 17, they will get into the playoffs if they beat the Titans in the finale. But that doesn’t mean they should take the Texans lightly. After all, they already lost to them earlier this year and even if the coaching staff decides to rest some starters, they will show up at NRG Stadium ready to compete.

Simply, you can’t ask players to go through the motions in a game. Their competitiveness won’t allow it, which is why you should expect Jacksonville to play hard against the Texans. With that in mind, here are the odds and a score prediction for Week 17.

Jaguars vs. Texans Odds and Spread for Week 17

The Jags are a 4-point favorite with a moneyline of -205 for this game, per Betsided. Bet $205 on them and win $100 if they beat Houston for a total payout of $305. The Texans’ moneyline sits at +180. Place a bet of $100 and win $180 for a payout of $280 if they win. The over/under is set at 43.5 points.

Jaguars vs. Texans Score Prediction for Week 17

The Texans already beat Jacksonville once this season but the latter looks like a completely different team since their last match. The Jags have won five games since Week 9 while the Texans have managed to win just one game since their last encounter.

Trevor Lawrence is playing the best football of his young career and all the weapons general manager Trent Baalke added in free agency are gelling. Similarly, the defense is creating turnovers at a high rate and showed they could keep opponents in check when they held the New York Jets to a measly three points on Thursday Night Football.

Meanwhile, the Texans benched sophomore quarterback Davis Mills earlier this year and inserted him back in the starting lineup. Their defense isn’t faring much better. They rank 26th in the league in points allowed and 30th in total yards. The Jaguars have played well against better defenses, so it’s hard to see Houston pulling off the upset this time around even if the Jags decide to rest a few players.

Final score: Jaguars 24 – Texans 17
