The Jacksonville Jaguars will play their only primetime of the 2022 season on Thursday Night Football. They’ll face off against the 7-7 New York Jets in a game neither club can’t afford to lose. Then again, someone has to win right?

You could make the case that the Jets have home-field advantage and will be in desperation mode following four straight losses. On the other hand, Jacksonville is getting hot ahead of the end of the season and Trevor Lawrence is playing the best football of his young career.

Then again, the weather could negate whatever edge either club has. It’s expected to rain, which will make it difficult to move the football through the air. Having said that, head coach Doug Pederson can’t call a run on every single play and the Jaguars will need to attempt several passes if they want to come on top. With that in mind, here are the best prop bets for the game.

Jaguars vs. NY Jets: 3 prop bets you might like for Week 16

3. RB Travis Etienne + a Jaguars win (+200)

BetMGM offers a handful of interesting props. They have Travis Etienne scoring first at +550 and +110 if you pick him to reach the end zone at any time. There’s another bet that pays +200 if you pick him to score a touchdown AND the Jaguars to win.

Etienne had a bounce-back game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16, toting the rock 19 times for 103 yards. Given that the weather could have an impact on Jacksonville’s ability to throw the ball, expect the former Clemson Tiger to get a big workload against the Jets. Thus, any prop related to him is worth a look.

2. QB Trevor Lawrence over 215 yards (-115)

Trevor Lawrence deserves to earn a Pro Bowl selection. He won’t probably make it due to the presence of fellow quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in the AFC. Nevertheless, Lawrence’s improved play shouldn’t go unnoticed. The former Clemson Tiger has thrown 14 touchdowns and just one interception over the last five games, and analysts are rightfully taking notice.

The problem with choosing Lawrence to throw for more than 250 yards in Week 16 is the weather. He will likely attempt 20 to 25 passes but not many of them will be deep shots, which will make it tough for him to have a 300-yard game. Then again, 215 yards is attainable. He had 174 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 (it was raining that day), but he’s playing much better now.

1. WR Zay Jones anytime touchdown scorer (+240), TE Evan Engram anytime TD scorer (+230)

This one comes down to personal taste. Who do you think is going to be Lawrence’s main target against the Jets? Zay Jones or Evan Engram? Jones had a monster game against the Cowboys, hauling in six receptions for 109 yards with three touchdowns. The week before, Engram went off against the Titans, catching 11 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Christian Kirk is another choice but Jones and Engram have been a bigger part of the Jags’ offense in recent weeks, so it makes sense to pick either one to score at any time on Thursday Night Football.
