The Jacksonville Jaguars have turned the corner in recent weeks and are in the hunt for a playoff spot. But before they can light their cigars and uncork the champagne, they must take care of business against the New York Jets in Week 16.

For the first (and only) time this season, the Jags are playing a prime game. While Sunday or Monday would’ve been great, it will be on Thursday Night Football, just four days removed from their dominant win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15.

The 7-7 Jets have lost four of their last five games but they’re not the kind of opponent clubs can afford to underestimate even if Zach Wilson, who will fill in for Mike White, gets the starting nod. With that in mind, here are the odds, the over/under, and a prediction for Thursday Night Football.

Jaguars vs. NY Jets Odds for Week 16

The Jags are a 1-point underdog with a moneyline of +100 for this one, per Betsided. Place a bet of $100 and with $100 for a total payout of $200. The Jets’ moneyline is -120. Bet $120 and win $100. The over/under for the game is set at 41 points But this could change on game day due to the elements. In fact, this could end up being a low-scoring affair.

Jaguars vs. NY Jets Prediction for Week 16

If it snows, both the Jets and Jacksonville will struggle to move the ball. This could potentially give New York a slight edge, as Zach Wilson, who was previously benched for Mike White, will probably be their starting quarterback.

With or without Wilson, the Jets have struggled in recent weeks after starting 6-3. While they have a chance to get out of the funk, the Jaguars are getting hot at the right time, having beaten the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys in the last three weeks. They lost to the Detroit Lions in Week 13 but that seems like an outlier when you take into account that they’ve gone 4-2 since Week 9.

Trevor Lawrence is playing like a top-10 quarterback, completing over 70 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and just one interception over the last six games. It’s hard to see him regressing even if the weather is a factor Thursday. Moreover, the defense is making plays and has tightened up after struggling early in the season. They’re still giving up yards in chunks to opposing offenses but they’re generating turnovers.

For the aforementioned reasons, the Jaguars should get their seventh win of the year.

Final score Jags 20 – Jets 13
