5 Ravens not named Lamar Jackson the Jaguars must contain in Week 12
No. 2 Raven The Jaguars must account for in Week 12: Justin Houston
It’s always good to have players that can do a little bit of everything But it’s equally valuable to have one that can do one thing really well and Baltimore has a heck of a pass rusher in Justin Houston.
Even though Houston is no longer the same player he was at the peak of his career, when he was made the First-Team All-Pro team in 2014, he’s become an important part of the Ravens’ pass-rush rotation.
Houston only logged 4.0 sacks in his first season with the Ravens but he’s already registered 9.0 this season even though he’s only made one start. Looking back, it’s kind of puzzling that he remained unsigned for a few months before Baltimore decided to bring him back in July.
No. 1 Raven the Jaguars must silence in Week 12: Mark Andrews, TE
Back in 2019, Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Zach Ertz were seen as the top 3 tight ends in the NFL. While both Kelce and Kittle remain in the conversation, Ertz is out for the season and hasn’t been nearly as productive as he was three years ago. Meanwhile, Mark Andrews has made a name for himself and should be included in the conversation.
Andrews hauled 107 receptions for 1,361 yards with nine touchdowns in 2021. This season, he’s caught 48 receptions for 551 yards with five touchdowns. He might not reach the 1,000-yard mark but that doesn’t make him any less difficult to game-plan for.
The Jaguars have struggled to cover tight ends this season and if they can’t contain Andrews, they could be in for a long day.
