No. 4 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Raiders: Arden Key, DE

Defensive end Arden Key was a non-factor during his three-year season with the Raiders. But he’s gone on to develop into a solid player. He was released after the 2020 season and he quickly signed with the San Francisco 49ers, where he went on to post career numbers even though he didn’t start a single game.

Key picked up where he left off with the Niners and has become a key cog in the Jags’ defensive front. In Week 9, he’ll have the chance to face off against his old team and show much better he’s since they gave up on him.

No. 3 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Raiders: Travis Etienne, RB

One of the Jaguars’ bright spots this season has been running back Travis Etienne. Coming off a season-ending injury, the former Clemson Tigers made James Robinson expendable, and has quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic running backs in the whole league.

Etienne had a slow start to the 2022 season but he’s been pretty good the last four weeks, toting the rock 58 times for 427 yards with two touchdowns. Against the Broncos in Week 9, he had a season-high 24 carries and averaged more than seven yards every time he got the ball.

The Raiders rank 10th in rushing yards allowed but Denver had a stout run defense and Etienne still managed to thrive. The Jaguars will need to lean on him in Week 9 if they want to get back on track.
