Jacksonville Jaguars WR Target No. 2: Quentin Johnston, TCU

What Addison lacks in natural size, TCU’s Quentin Johnston makes up for it and then some. He stands at six-foot-four, and weighing 215 pounds. To many folks, Johnston is right there alongside Addison as one of the top-receiving prospects for next April. Currently a top five wideout in the Big12 conference, Johnston sits near atop several categories. I’m, of course, referring to receptions (38), receiving yards (574), and most notably, Johnson is number one in terms of yards per reception, averaging 22.1 apiece.

While dominating his conference, his stats do fall short on the national stage. which, surprisingly, could lead to him not being considered a first-round prospect. If he surpasses 1,000 yards receiving, that likely gives him the necessary push. Otherwise, the Jaguars might be able to steal him in the second or third round.

However, college production is hardly the pivotal determining factor when taking a player, especially a receiver. Johnston’s physical profile alone makes him a noteworthy possibility. He possesses long arms along with an imposing body but is still a viable threat downfield.

Lawrence needs a receiver who can both catch a ball thrown into a crowd and break away for extra yards. Johnston is just that. His frame and stature allow him to punish defenders but will also leave them in the dust.

The biggest knock on Johnston is his blocking. The Jaguars will certainly need to address that if they land him. Luckily, Johnston’s physical traits should allow him to remedy this with the appropriate coaching by receivers coach Chris Jackson.
