1. The Jaguars allowed the Giants to register 236 rushing yards

This might seem like an attempt to pile on the Jaguars’ defense but the truth is that coordinator Mike Caldwell’s unit has left much to be desired in recent weeks and if they aren’t being torched by the likes of Matt Ryan or Davis Mills, they allow opposing teams to run the ball at will.

This is frustrating when you take into account that Doug Pederson told the media in the offseason that the team’s brass was building a front seven to stop opponents from running the ball. However, they let Daniel Jones (a quarterback) and running back Saquon Barkley combine for 236 rushing yards in Week 7.

What’s worse is that Pederson knew the Giants were going to run the back heavily. Heck, their offense revolves around Barkley’s playmaking skills and Jones’ ability to get out of the pocket and run. Despite the fact that the Jaguars knew what was coming at them, they had no answer for New York’s offense.

The fact that the Jags had defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi in the lineup, arguably their best run stuffer, makes their inability to stop the G-Men from running the ball even more puzzling.

Earlier this year, they gave up 99 yards to Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce and while they limited the Indianapolis Colts to 2.8 yards per carry, they regressed against Big Blue. If the Jaguars want to get back in the win column, they must find a way to stop teams from running the ball with so much ease. Forcing a few turnovers would also help.
