No. 2 Eagle the Jaguars must contain in Week 4: Fletcher Cox, DL

If there’s something the Eagles know how to do well is acquire defensive line talent. Via free agency (Javon Hargrave) the draft (Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox), general manager Howie Roseman has continually replenished their talent up front.

Against the Commanders in Week 3, Philly logged a staggering nine sacks and Fletcher Cox is arguable the key to their success in their trenches. A first-round selection in 2012, the Mississippi State product is showing no signs of slowing down.

In the last three games, Cox registered eight total tackles, three sacks and nine total pressures. If you watch him play, you wouldn’t think he’s going to turn 32 next year. Jaguars rookie center Luke Fortner is going to have his hands full Sunday, and successfully contain Cox could turn out to play a big role in the outcome of the game.

No. 1 Eagle the Jaguars must contain in Week 3: Jalen Hurts, QB

Looking back, it didn’t matter that investing a second-round pick in Jalen Hurts rubbed then Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz the wrong way, as the former Alabama standout might just be a franchise building block.

Hurts was good but not great last year. However, he’s made a significant leap in Year 3 and has played a big role in Philadelphia’s 3-0 start. This season, he’s completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 916 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. He’s also added 167 yards on the ground, along with three rushing yards, so the Jaguars will need to account for his ability to take off.

If the Jaguars’ defense manages to keep Hurts in the pocket and limit his ability to scramble, they could have a chance to leave the Linc with a win.
