The Jacksonville Jaguars have won a combined four games in the last two years. Think about it, they have 33 chances to get a win and they could only muster four. This was partly due to poor personnel decisions that left the team devoid of talent. Having said that, there were a few bright spots and none might have been bigger than running back James Robinson, who went undrafted in 2020.

The former Illinois State Redbird totaled 1,414 yards from scrimmage as a rookie. He then showed last year that he was no one-year wonder, toting the rock 164 times for 767 yards. While those aren’t eye-popping numbers, it’s important to bring up the fact that Urban Meyer wasn’t particularly interested in getting Robinson involved on offense and even benched him at one point of the 2021 season.

To add insult to injury, Robinson tore his Achilles late in the season and had to spend the offseason rehabbing his foot. His goal was to play in Week 1 and he achieved it, showing how driven and determined he is. He finished the game with 11 carries for 66 yards and one rushing touchdown. The running back also scored on a 3-yard pass from Trevor Lawrence, and there’s a good chance he will keep eating against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.

With that in mind, here are three prop bets for Jacksonville’s Week 2 matchup at TIAA Bank Field, via WynnBET.

3 prop bets you might like for the Jaguars’ game vs. the Colts

1. RB James Robinson, first touchdown scorer (+1,100)

This might be one of the safest props of the game. Bet $100 on James Robinson to score the first touchdown of the game and win $1,100 if he does. The third-year pro will likely be an important part of the offense and should get a bigger workload than Travis Etienne.

If you think the Colts will score first, you can take Robinson to be the first Jaguar to score at +349. The return is lower but still enticing. Conversely, if you want a higher-risk bet that could pay off big time, picking wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. to score the first touchdown of the game(+2,000) might be of your interest.

2. WR Christian Kirk, over 5.5 receptions (+100)

Wide receiver Christian Kirk quickly established himself as the Jags’ No. 1 receiver in the opener, hauling in six receptions for 117 yards. Looking back, giving him a four-year contract worth $72 million in free agency might have not been a bad investment. The former Texas A&M Auggie should have another productive outing in Week 2, especially if cornerback Kenny Moore, who is listed as questionable, doesn’t suit up.

Six receptions for Kirk against the Colts seem realistic and even a safe prop. But if you’re looking for a bigger return, you might consider betting on him to score the first touchdown of the game (+1,400). Keep in mind that Trevor Lawrence will spread the ball, so Kirk’s chances of scoring first are lower than Robinson’s.

1. QB Trevor Lawrence, throwing two touchdown passes (+105)

The Jaguars had a hard time finding the end zone last year and had the worst scoring offense in the league. Trevor Lawrence went several games without a touchdown and only had more than two twice, in the season opener and the finale.

Lawrence threw just one passing touchdown against the Washington Commanders. However, he’s simply too talented and has so many weapons that it’s hard to see him not throwing two against Indy. That’s what makes this prop an attractive one. But if you think won’t pull it off, you can also take him to complete 23 passes or more at -115.
