The Jacksonville Jaguars have put the stench of Urban Meyer behind them and are ready for a fresh start under head coach Doug Pederson. They’ll have the chance to begin the 2022 NFL season 1-0 when they face off against the Washington Commanders in Week 1.

The Commanders are favored to win by 2.5 points even though the game will be on FedEx Field. This means that this could be a close matchup and the Jags can win if Trevor Lawrence and his teammates show out. With that in mind here are three prop bets that you might like, per WynnBet.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence OVER 240 Passing Yards Prop Bet (-125)

Trevor Lawrence had an underwhelming rookie year but he’s set to make a big leap under Doug Pederson. One thing that held the former Clemson Tiger back last season was his lack of weapons but that no longer be an issue with the Jaguars signing Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and tight end Evan Engram in free agency.

Even though the Jags won’t suddenly turn in the Greatest Show on Turf 2.0, they will move the ball effectively and gain yards in chunks. Last year, Lawrence tallied 250 passing yards or more just five times. He should do it more often in 2022 and he should have no trouble getting over 240 against the Commanders.

Christian Kirk OVER 57.5 Receiving Yards Prop Bet (-125)

Christian Kirk isn’t a wide receiver in the mold of Justin Jefferson or Davante Adams but he will give Trevor Lawrence a reliable target in the passing game. As a matter of fact, the Jags expect big things from him. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have handed him a top-market contract in free agency.

Lawrence should look for Kirk often in Week 1 and he should have no trouble getting over 57.5 yards receiving. Washington has already ruled out staring safety Kam Curl for the game. Without Curl, the Jags might feel tempted to take a few shots downfield, which could lead to a big day for Kirk.

Evan Engram, First Touchdown Scorer (+2,000)

The Jaguars gave their tight end room a boost when they signed Evan Engram in free agency. The Ole Miss Rebel has struggled with consistency and drops in the past but should benefit from playing in Doug Pederson’s tight-end friendly offense.

Despite the fact that Kirk will be the primary target on offense in 2022, Engram will also get plenty of work. Expect Lawrence to look for him in the red zone like he did during the preseason. And if you think that betting on him to score the first touchdown against Washington is too risky, you can also pick him to be the first Jaguar to score at +800.
