The Jacksonville Jaguars will report to training camp in less than two weeks, and there were be several storylines to follow. Among the most important ones will be Trevor Lawrence’s development and how the newcomers will fit the team.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the unexpected rise of some players. Some will see their stock soar while others will tumble down the depth chart. With this in mind, here are five Jaguars that are set to turn heads in training camp.

Evan Engram is rightfully getting the spotlight ahead of the 2022 regular season. The former first-round pick is expected to have a featured role on the Jags’ offense and possibly break out. However, there’s another tight end on the Jaguars roster who is also poised to make some noise.

Dan Arnold joined the Jags via trade once the 2021 season had already started but he went on to have an impact right off the bat, catching two passes for 29 receptions against the Cincinnati Bengals just three days after joining the team. He saw his workload increase as the year progressed but an MCL injury forced him to miss the last seven games.

Despite the fact that Engram will get more playing time, Arnold will get his fair share of targets, having developed a report with Trevor Lawrence in 2021. Also, he won’t have to learn the offense on the fly, as he will participate in Jaguars’ training camp, unlike last year when he was a member of the Carolina Panthers.

It’s worth noting that Doug Pederson is known for getting their tight ends involved and Arnold won’t be the exception, even if Engram gets more snaps.
