The Jacksonville Jaguars revamped their roster in the offseason and are in good shape ahead of training camp. However, they still have a few positional groups they should consider reinforcing.

There are still quality free agents available in the open market and many of them could be instant contributors for the Jaguars in 2022. With that in mind, here are five players that Jacksonville could sign ahead of or during training camp.

Travis Etienne’s rookie campaign finished before it started after he suffered a Lisfranc injury in the preseason. The former Clemson Tiger is now healthy and will tentatively be the Jaguars’ starting running back against the Washington Commanders in Week 1. With Etienne back in the fold, the Jaguars’ brass won’t have to rush James Robinson’s recovery from a torn Achilles he suffered late in the 2021 season.

During Robinson’s recovery, rookie Snoop Cooner and Ryquell Armstead will compete for snaps behind Etienne. But if the Jaguars’ aren’t pleased with their current group or if injuries strike, they should have running back Devontea Booker’s number on speed dial.

A fourth-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2016, Booker joined the New York Giants last year after spending the 2020 campaign with the Las Vegas Raiders. The former Utah Ute hasn’t had a feature role in his NFL career and has only started 11 games However, he’s been productive when he’s called upon, especially over the last three years. In that span, he’s averaged 4.3 yards per carry and racked up 1,025 yards and five touchdowns on 240 carries.

Booker can step in at any time if needed and could be a solid backup for the Jaguars if they wanted to add depth in the upcoming months.
