NFL players sometimes get overlooked when talking about the best because they line up next to household names. On other occasions, they play for teams with a losing record. Last but not least, they simply lack the name recognition their peers enjoy. The Jacksonville Jaguars have a few of those players, just like each one of their division foes.

The AFC South has its fair share of overrated players but there are also a few that deserve more recognition. With that in mind, here are three of the division’s most underrated players, one per each Jags’ rival.

No. 3 Jaguars underrated AFC South rival: Ben Jones, OL – Titans

. . Ben Jones, center. 60. player. 35.

As it is, offensive linemen don’t usually get the NFL spotlight unless they get flagged or commit a mistake that hurts their team. That’s not fair for such is life for those whose job is to open lanes for their running backs and make sure their quarterback’s jersey stays clean. Tennessee Titans center Ben Jones is one of those players.

Jones has been a mainstay of the Titans’ offensive line for years, more precisely since 2016, when he traded alliances within the AFC South and switched the Texans for Tennessee. A fourth-round pick by Houston in 2012, he’s appeared in 160 games with 139 starts. Moreover, he’s only missed one game since 2015. That kind of durability is impressive, and the Titans recognize his value up front. That’s why they gave him a two-year contract worth $14 million earlier this year, to prevent him from walking away in free agency.

You could even make the case Jones should have made the Pro Bowl last season. Besides starting all 17 games, he posted a Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade of 81.5 and allowed just one sack. Clubs around the league would like to have that kind of consistency and production from the center position.
