Trevor Lawrence helps Gatorade design new bottle collection
As soon as Trevor Lawrence declared for the 2021 NFL Draft, endorsements came knocking on his door. One of the biggest ones he got was from Gatorade, and together, they have launched a new line of bottle designs.
Gatorade just released their Fuel Tomorrow Gx Collection and asked four athletes to help them come up with different designs. Lawrence says wanted his “to capture the joy football has brought on his journey from youth to the pros“. The other three athletes were Olympian Sydney McLaughlin, UConn Huskies guard Paige Bueckers, and Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. Here’s what the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback had to say about his collaboration.
"To see my story brought to life on my first-ever Gatorade Gx bottle is such a special milestone for me. As a kid, I knew I always wanted to go pro and I hope my journey inspires the next generation to keep dreaming because you’re not that far away from making it a reality."
- Lawrence drew inspiration from both the Clemson Tigers and the Jacksonville Jaguars and you can see their colors in the design.
- Similarly, the wavy lines on the bottle represent all those roads the quarterback and his dad drove while growing up in Tennessee.
- Then, there’s the teal mountain, which symbolizes the quarterback’s work ethic and to keep climbing because there’s always another goal to achieve.
- Last but not least, the orange line represents his signature throw arc.
Trevor Lawrence is getting the spotlight ahead of the 2022 season
Trevor Lawrence is currently making waves ahead of training camp. He’s seen around the league as a candidate to have a breakout season in 2022, and it’s easy to see why. He displayed flashes as a rookie but was hampered by Urban Meyer’s disastrous tenure as the head coach of the Jaguars. To replace, Meyer, Jacksonville hired Doug Pederson, who has a good track record developing quarterbacks. Moreover, the front office added several weapons to the quarterback’s arsenal in the offseason, including wide receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones.
Off the football field, it was reported Lawrence had lost a significant amount of this signing bonus due to the cryptocurrency crash. However, this wasn’t accurate, as the former Clemson Tiger got his NFL signing bonus paid in US dollars. What happened was that he had gotten another singing bonus from FTX as a part of the endorsement deal he signed with them. And it’s possible that he might have lost some of it but it was definitely not part of the amount he got from the NFL.
Lawrence is getting the national spotlight, so it’s not surprising to see him be part of Gatorade’s new bottle collection. If he helps the Jaguars compete and win more games in 2022, his profile will rise even more.
