The AFC South is home to some of the best running backs in the league, and each of their teams has several talented players, and that includes the Jacksonville Jaguars, which made several upgrades to their roster this offseason.

On the other hand, there are several overrated players on each Jaguars’ division rival. Here’s one for each team.

No. 3 overrated Jaguars AFC South rival: Stephon Gilmore, CB – Colts

5. player. 46. . . . Stephon Gilmore, CB

The Indianapolis Colts traded for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue and signed cornerback Stephon Gilmore in free agency. Both of them will go on to have starting roles and both of them should help Indy have a top 10 defense again in 2022.

Having said that, Gilmore is no longer the player he was once. At his peak, he earned the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2019. That season, he logged six interceptions, 20 passes defensed, and 53 total tackles. However, he’s dealt with injuries over the last two years and hasn’t been nearly as productive when he’s been on the football field.

Looking back, the New England Patriots’ decision to sign Gilmore in free agency instead of keeping Super Bowl hero Malcom Butler paid off as the former went on to have a productive four-year run in Foxborough. Similarly, the Pats knew it was time to move on the two-time First-Team All-Pro cornerback when they traded him to the Carolina Panthers last season.

The Colts are counting on Gilmore to become a key cog in their secondary but it will be unrealistic to expect him to perform the way he did during his prime.
