The Jacksonville Jaguars made many moves in the offseason that should help them improve in 2022. However, they weren’t the only team in the AFC South to revamp their roster over the last few months. The Indianapolis Colts traded for quarterback Matt Ryan and added several offensive players in the draft. For their part, the Houston Texans also addressed several position needs and should also make strides.

Although the Tennesee Titans didn’t make as much noise, they are still the best team in the division. They could lose their title this upcoming season but they won’t give it up without a fight. With that in mind, here are three players, one from every AFC South rival, that the Jaguars would hypothetically love to have on their roster.

No. 3 AFC South player the Jaguars would like to poach: Brandin Cooks, WR

10. . . . Brandin Cooks, WR. 13. player

Brandin Cooks isn’t mentioned among the best wide receiver in the league even though he’s posted pretty good numbers and has been reliable since the New Orleans Saints made him a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s suited up for four different teams but that shouldn’t take away how talented he is. Even if he isn’t in the same echelon as Davante Adams or Justin Jefferson, most NFL teams would like to have him on their roster, and that includes the Jaguars.

Despite the fact that the Houston Texans had one of the worst offenses in the league in 2021 Cooks still topped 1,000 receiving yards for the sixth time in his career. Moreover, he still made plays even though he was the only weapon in the Texans’ passing game and opposing teams could devote extra attention to him.

The Jags made several bolstered their wide receiver corps in free agency but even with the arrival of Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, they could still use Cooks.
