The Jacksonville Jaguars wrapped up offseason workouts and will now take a rest before reporting to training camp, where there will be several enticing storylines. Among them will be Trevor Lawrence’s development in Year 2 and a few position battles for featured and backup roles. Also, the coaching staff will give their rookie class an extensive look.

As the first player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft Travon Walker is getting plenty of attention. However, he’s not the only first-year player under pressure to live up to expectations. In fact, these four Jaguars rookies will have no room for error in training camp.

The Jaguars’ running back room didn’t get a favorable spot in a recent ranking, mainly because both James Robinson and Travis Etienne are coming off serious injuries. However, they have made strides in their recovery and there’s a chance they’ll both be available for the season opener against the Washington Commanders.

Neither Etienne nor Robinson have had any setbacks but if one of them isn’t good to go, the Jags will then lean on either Ryquell Armstead or rookie Snoop Conner, and that’s why the latter needs to shine in the upcoming weeks.

Per John Shipley of Jaguar Report, Conner made strides in minicamp, “showing great hands in individual drills and frequently making tough catches“. The former Ole Miss Rebel, just like any other rookie, is bound to experience growing pains while he makes the adjustment to the pros but if he keeps making strides, he will have a realistic shot at becoming the third running back on the Jaguars’ depth chart.
