Ranking the 6 best Jacksonville Jaguars under 25 in 2022
No. 1 best Jaguars player under 25 in 2022 – Trevor Lawrence, QB
Trevor Lawrence is the Jaguars’ best player under 25 and that’s not up to debate. He’s only been in the league for one year and it wasn’t a particularly great one at that. However, he’s been the franchise quarterback the organization had been lacking for years but finally found. The road to acquiring him was easy, as Jacksonville had to hit rock bottom to land him.
Back in 2020, the Jaguars earned the first overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft by virtue of having the worst record in the NFL. And from the moment they clinched the pick, Lawrence became their best and probably only choice. Looking back, it didn’t matter that everyone knew the Jags were going to take the former Clemson Tiger, and when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pick, you could hear fans celebrate his selection.
Now, Lawrence’s rookie campaign was a rough one but he also put on displayed the talent that made him the best collegiate prospect since Andrew Luck. Although he led the league in interceptions, he also showed he was capable of making throws other quarterbacks dream they could pull off. Heading into the 2022 season, the stars are aligned in Trevor Lawrence’s favor. He’s got a great mentor in head coach Doug Pederson, one that will squeeze every ounce of talent out of him, and an improved supporting cast, one that will potentially help him have a breakout year.
