Jaguars Day 2 Option No. 3 – George Pickens, WR, Georgia

  • Height: 6’3″
  • Weight: 200 lbs.
  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.47 seconds
  • Broad Jump: 125 inches
  • Vertical Jump: 33 inches

If the Jaguars feel an offensive lineman can be had in the third round, selecting George Pickens in the second round is a no-brainer, though it might require a trade up. That’s mostly due to the fact that Pickens is the best of the second-tier wide receivers available on Day 2.

A move to acquire Pickens wouldn’t come without some risk. However, he’ll be on the rebound from an ACL injury, so that’s certainly a red flag. Be that as it may, the Jaguars could use a gifted player with the potential to become a reliable red zone option. He consistently dominated smaller cornerbacks in college and is a physical player who’s already fairly difficult to bring down in open space.

Along with his physical play, Pickens isn’t afraid of making tough catches and will go over the middle if necessary. Adding Pickens to a young and promising receiving corps would be huge for Lawrence in Year 2.
