Jaguars 2022 NFL Draft, Round 1: Start Time, Live Stream, TV, More
It’s finally here. The 2022 NFL Draft will take place tonight and the Jacksonville Jaguars will make the very first pick. After months of speculation, it looks like the Jags will take a pass rusher, either Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson or Georgia’s Travon Walker. However, there’s a slight chance they will select an offensive lineman instead, Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu.
Ultimately, the Jaguars must get the No. 1 pick right but they also need to walk away from later rounds with a handful of playmakers. They haven’t been very good at identifying and developing talent over the last 10 years but they will have the opportunity to reverse this concerning trend tonight. Will they succeed? It’s hard to guess but all eyes will be on the Jags and whoever they take with the top pick. Here’s everything you need to know for this year’s selection meeting.
The Jaguars hold the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft
For the second consecutive year, the Jaguars hold the first overall pick. Last year, they selected Trevor Lawrence, their quarterback of the future. General manager Trent Baalke told the media in March that the team was open to trading down but he later said that the phone didn’t ring. It will be worth monitoring if someone calls at the last minute and inquire about the top selection.
