After months of evaluation, watching tape, and a boatload of face-to-face meetings, the 2022 NFL Draft is almost here. The Jacksonville Jaguars, just like every other team, will try to address all their needs, find a handful of playmakers and plug as many holes as they can.

So how will the draft play out? It’s hard to tell and while you should always expect the unexpected, the Black and Teal tried to take a guess. Without further ado, here’s the final seven-round mock draft before the big day. Let us know what you think in the comment section or on social media.

Jaguars final mock draft: 1st round, No. 1 pick – Travon Walker, DL.

Michigan Aidan Hutchinson could have also gotten the nod but the truth is that the Jaguars are seemingly leaning towards taking Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker with the top pick in the draft. Sure, Walker isn’t as polished as Hutchinson but his upside is immense.

In general manager Trent Baalke’s eyes, the Georgia standout compares favorably to former San Francisco 49ers defensive Aldon Smith. Moreover, Baalke says he isn’t concerned about how others see the teams, meaning that the Jaguars would take Walker over Hutchinson even though the latter is seen as the safer pick of the two.

Walker has all the tools to develop into a ferocious defender in the pros, and if Baalke’s gut is right, the Jaguars will get a bookend pass rusher opposite outside linebacker Josh Allen. Is it a risky pick? You bet but it’s one Baalke may be willing to take.
