The advantage of heading into the offseason with several needs is that there are several paths you can take to fill a good chunk of them. The downside is that you will need more than one year to address them all, and that’s the situation the Jacksonville Jaguars currently find themselves in.

The Jags have around $55 million in cap space and four selections, including the first overall in the first three rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft. While those are plenty of assets, they might not be enough to address all Jacksonville’s needs. On the other hand, the team’s brass should be able to acquire a few difference-makers. Here are four building blocks the Jaguars can acquire with their first four picks in this year’s draft.

Jaguars mock draft: 1st round, 1st overall pick – Evan Neal, OT.

Cam Robinson isn’t an upper-echelon left tackle but he’s a more than capable starter. However, the Jaguars may not be able to re-sign him and if he hits the open market, the Jaguars will need to find someone to take his spot in the lineup.

Walker Little is a potential replacement after showing promise in the last two games of his rookie campaign but the Jags will also have a shot at taking one of the top two tackles in the draft, Alabama’s Evan Neal and North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu.

Ekwonu’s been trending up in recent days after a solid display in the NFL Scouting Combine. Meanwhile, Neal opted not to partake in drills but still met with several teams, including the Jaguars. This could end up being a tough choice for Jacksonville but Neal’s flexibility to play left tackle, right tackle, and left guard could give him the edge.

Simply, Neal would afford the Jaguars to field the best offensive-line combination and that should make him the favorite to be the top pick, even if Ekwonu’s making a strong case.
