The Jacksonville Jaguars have been in the cellar of the AFC South over the last four years but they could gain some ground this offseason. They have one of the most stable quarterback situations in the division and they just hired a Super Bowl-winning head coach in Doug Pederson.

Moreover, the Jags are in great cap shape and should be able to acquire a few playmakers in free agency. They will have around $56 million in cap space, which is more than enough to make a couple of splash signings. And while they’re at it, they could poach these five players from their AFC South rivals.

No. 1 AFC South free agent the Jaguars can sign – Justin Britt, C.

Former general manager/head coach Bill O’Brien’s decision-making left the Houston Texans devoid of much talent and it could take them a couple of years to replenish their roster. That’s why they should make an effort to re-sign center Justin Britt.

A second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 NFL Draft, Britt signed with the Texans last year. He started 11 games for them but a knee injury cut his season short. He also had to sit the 2020 campaign after tearing his ACL the year before. From 2014 to 2019, the center appeared in 79 games with 78 starts.

Jaguars center Brandon Linder has missed 15 games over the last two seasons and Britt could be a solid depth piece in case the teams let backup Tyler Shatley in free agency. The fact that Britt has been dealing with injuries could reduce the demand for his services this offseason but he could be a good addition to the Jags’ roster if he’s healthy.
