The Jacksonville Jaguars need to upgrade their wide receiver unit this offseason and if they aren’t thrilled about their options in free options or the 2022 NFL Draft, they could engineer a trade. In fact, Brian Spielberger of Pro Football Focus sees the Jags as a potential landing spot for Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper.

While Spielberger’s trade proposal makes sense, there’s a chance Cooper becomes a cap casualty and if he does, the Jaguars could sign him without having to give up any kind of compensation for him.

Having said that, Cooper isn’t the only wideout the Jaguars could trade for this offseason. Here are five more they could inquire about.

No. 1 wide receiver the Jaguars could trade for – Calvin Ridley.

Calvin Ridley could find himself in the trade block this offseason and if he becomes available, there won’t be a shortage of suitors for his services. A second-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2018 draft, Ridley racked up solid numbers in his first three seasons, hauling in 217 receptions for 3,061 yards with 26 touchdowns. However, he retired in the middle of the 2021 campaign to focus on his mental health.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the team would welcome Ridley back if he decided to come back from retirement but also acknowledge the wideout might want a fresh start somewhere else. It’s not a given that Ridley will resume his playing career but if Atlanta shops him, the Jaguars must ask how much it would take to land him.
