Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson has talked about the importance of giving Trevor Lawrence optimal protection, “you can’t have a passing game if you can’t protect the quarterback“. So it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Jags revamp the offensive line this offseason.

Cam Robinson, Andrew Norwell, A.J. Cann, and backup Tyler Shatley are all set to become free agents. At this point of the process, it’s unknown who will stay and who will be gone in 2022, but the Jaguars’ offensive line could have a completely different look in 2022.

If the Jaguars opt not to re-sign Norwell, they could then target these five players in free agency to replace him.

No. 1 option to replace Jaguars OG Andrew Norwell – Laken Tomlinson.

You could make the case that the Detroit Lions gave up on offensive guard Laken Tomlinson too early. A first-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Duke product was traded to the San Francisco 49rs in 2017. Since then, he’s gone on to make 80 starts and is a mainstay of the Niners’ offensive line.

Tomlinson is coming off a season in which he allowed just two sacks and 24 total pressures. Also, he earned his first Pro Bowl nod last season and should be able to find a robust market for his services if he doesn’t return to the Bay Area. Pro Football Focus expects him to sign a three-year, $27 million contract ($9 million per year average), which would fit right into the Jaguars’ spending budget in free agency.
