Jaguars mock draft: 2nd round, 33rd overall pick, – Daniel Faalele, OT.

The Jaguars decided to address the other side of the trenches with Daniel Faalele in the second round of this scenario. Yes, the team does need help at wide receiver, but let’s not forget that free agency brings with it several interesting options. Getting Lawrence some help on the edges of his o-line will be vital to his sophomore development.

Coming out of Minnesota, Faalele received solid grades from Pro Football Focus. As far as pass-blocking, he was graded at 76.6 and 78.9 in the run blocking department. Those are solid grades across the board for a youngster projected to be a starting tackle out of the gate.

At six-foot-eight and 380 pounds, Faalele is a behemoth and possesses something that can’t be coached when it comes to the offensive line: size. He’s not all show, though; he’s fairly agile and has solid movement for someone of his build.

As a former rugby player, Faalele is a “high-risk, high-reward” selection, but given his raw physical tools, he’ll be an invaluable asset if groomed correctly by the Jaguars coaching staff. The Jaguars can only go up after being the NFL’s doormat for the past two seasons. Taking the time to develop a starting tackle will need to be at the top of the new regime’s to-do list.
