The Jaguars most do what’s best for them, not what the fans want.

Most Jaguars will disagree with the notion that drafting a quarterback should be a priority, even if it’s the fourth selection. However, there’s a reason why fans don’t run NFL teams. The team still doesn’t really know how good Lawrence can be but that’s mostly due to Meyer’s underwhelming stint. Getting a second signal-caller will benefit everyone, including Lawrence.

Tanner McKee isn’t one of the top six prospects, but that doesn’t mean his talent should be overlooked. The six-foot-six, 228-pound quarterback from Stanford has the size and frame to become an NFL quarterback. He threw 14 touchdown passes in ten games last season and earned several Pac-12 honors. McKee was sixth in passing efficiency rating, ninth in passing yards, and fifth in pass completions.

His accuracy and awareness will aid him in his transition to the NFL. A physical specimen that knows how to deliver the ball? Yeah, that sounds like someone the Jaguars could mold. Just picture Minshew, but taller. McKee is the least recognized quarterback prospect, but he was graded at 68.7 in the passing department by Pro Football Focus, solid but not great. That is to be expected if he’s available in the third, or possibly fourth, and fifth rounds. Either way, there’s definitely upside for the Jaguars.
