Fixing the offensive line should be the top priority once the new regime has settled in for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Almost nothing went right for the Jaguars in 2021, but that doesn’t mean there’s no hope for the future. The team still possesses a young signal-caller that was hailed as a generational talent last year. Putting the Urban Meyer fiasco aside, Trevor Lawrence’s talent hasn’t gone anywhere; the talent is still there. All he needs are some reliable weapons at wide receiver, but more importantly, the organization has to give him a competent offensive line.

Luckily for whoever takes the reins in Jacksonville, there are a considerable number of options to be had. The team could swing a trade for a proven tackle. That’s one. Secondly, there will be a plethora of free agents available this offseason. They won’t come cheap, but it’d be a worthwhile investment.

You also have the NFL draft in April, which looks to have several noteworthy prospects for the Jaguars. In fact, the team could opt to draft one with the first selection right out of the gate. Another route could be to use their pair of third-round choices to secure two offensive linemen.

In retrospect, 2021 was a rough season for the Jaguars. There’s no other way to put it. Meyer’s short-lived tenure was a complete disaster and likely set this franchise back. Luckily, though, the turnaround can be quick. This team isn’t going to compete for a Super Bowl any time soon, so the bar is low, but they can rebound if this year’s draft produces three to four impact starters.

Among those starters, the Jaguars will need two of them along their offensive line. That goes hand in hand with the first way to address the o-line.
