Left tackle is set to become a free agent this offseason. Will the Jacksonville Jaguars re-sign him? If they don’t they will have a few options to replace him.

After playing the 2021 season under the franchise tag, left tackle Cam Robinson will likely test the waters of free agency. The amount of money that he will be offered might be too much for him to pass up, as teams are willing to pay a premium for left tackles.

Robinson got slapped with the franchise tag in 2021 because the two parties could not come to terms with a new contract. Last offseason, the Jaguars didn’t have many options to replace him but this year, things will be different. There is a top offensive tackle Jacksonville could take with the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and there will be a few enticing left tackles in free agency.

While Robinson is 26 years old and could re-sign with the Jags at the right price, walking in free agency remains a possibility. If he does, the front office can replace him with any of these five players.

No. 1 option to replace Jaguars LT Cam Robinson – Evan Neal.

Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal can step in for Cam Robinson right off the bat. The consensus on Neal is that he is the safest pick in the draft and the Jaguars are in complete control of this one. If they want him, nobody will stop them from drafting him.

Neal performed on some big stages during his tenure at Alabama. I do not believe that he would struggle to be the starter from day one. In college, he only gave up twenty-two pressures at both tackle positions. Like any other rookie tackle, there will be some growing pains. If the team is lucky he will be the bookend tackle for many years to come. The true test will be when he gets on the field and can showcase his talents. The addition of Neal would go a long way towards shoring up the offensive line.
