No. 3 Packer that could follow Hackett to the Jaguars – De’Vondre Campbell

The Jaguars didn’t get much production from their linebacker corps in 2021. Myles Jack didn’t play at the level he’s used to. On the other hand, Damien Wilson had a dominant performance in Week 18, forcing a fumble and snagging an interception but he didn’t generate many big plays for most of the season. He’s set to become a free agent and if the team’s brass opts not to bring him back, Jacksonville could pursue De’Vondre Campbell.

A fourth-round pick by the Falcons in the 2016 draft, Campbell spent the first four years of his career in Atlanta. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 and joined the Green Bay Packers in 2021. Over the last six seasons, he’s participated in 91 games with 86 starts.

The former Minnesota Golden Gopher arguably had the best year of his pro career in 2021, logging 146 total tackles, 102 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Furthermore, he posted a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 84.3. Campbell is adept at playing against both the run and the pass, so Joe Cullen, or whoever the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator is next season, could deploy him in different ways.

Campbell landed at 27 in PFF’s 2022 top 100 free agents rankings. Although they note the linebackers’ 2021 season could be a potential outlier in his career, they cite durability, his tackling skills his ability to stop the run as his strengths. Moreover, they expect him to sign a two-year contract worth $13 million with $8 million guaranteed, which is would be a good investment for the Jaguars if he can play the way he did this year.
