Jaguars owner Shad Khan mocked for signing Tim Tebow
Fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars have united to let owner Shad Khan their displeasure with how he’s run the team. They came up with the clever #KhlownOut hashtag and a good chunk of them have changed their AVI on social media to that of a clown with a mustache. However, they aren’t the only ones openly making fun of Khan.
You know wrestling is all about trash talking. In fact, it wouldn’t be shocking to see wrestlers have a quota of disses per match and in the most recent edition of All Elite Wrestling, CM Punk called Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) a waste of his time and an even bigger waste of Khan’s money than Tim Tebow. Ouch.
The Jags signed Tim Tebow this past offseason but instead of playing him at quarterback, they switched him to tight end, hoping he could somehow contribute. In the end, the transition proved too much for the former Florida Gator and he was released after the first preseason game.
Make no mistake, Tebow made Khan plenty of money. His jersey was one of the best-selling in the NFL, so it’s debatable whether the owner regrets signing the 2010 first-round pick. Sure, it was a gimmick but one that got the Jags the spotlight. Having said that, you know you made a mistake when wrestlers are openly mocking you for your decision. It wouldn’t be shocking if comedians start to pick on the Jaguars’ perpetual misfortunes and Khan’s questionable’s decision as an owner. Here’s the clip of CM Punk dissing MJF.
Shad Khan hasn’t made many positive moves as the Jaguars owner.
Nobody will argue about Kahn’s business acumen but being a successful entrepreneur in another field doesn’t always translate into being a good NFL owner. You won’t hear reports about him being a bad boss or negative headlines about him like other owners but he hasn’t done much at the top of the Jaguars organization. As great as the 2017 season was, this Jacksonville team hasn’t had much winning even though they’ve gone through a handful of general managers and several head coaches. The only constant remains him.
Now, you could discuss the merits of the Khlown movement but the truth is that Jaguars fans are tired of seeing the team they root for being consistently so bad. Think about it, they show up every Sunday, thinking they’re in for a great time only to see the Jags get crushed.
The moment Khan rights the ship and the Jaguars start winning, he will get support from fans. That’s how it works, winning cures everything and until he does, he will continue to feel the heat.
