The Jacksonville Jaguars were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 14 but nobody really expected to play in the postseason in 2021, so the news didn’t come as a surprise. Having said that, there are three games left in the Jags’ schedule and they will be looking to finish the year strong. Some players will be fighting for a roster spot, either in Duval or somewhere else, while the front office will assess who will be part of the team’s long-term future.

In Week 16, the Jaguars will play against the New York Jets. Both teams have struggled this season and the two of them have placed several contributors on the COVID-19/Reserve list ahead of the game. This may end up being a close matchup and here are three prop bets you may be interested in, via WynnBET.

3 best prop bets for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ game vs. the New York Jets.

1. Running back James Robinson, anytime scorer (+220).

Second-year running back James Robinson was off to a strong start in 2021, racking up 84 yards for 460 yards and five touchdowns in the first six games. However, he’s cooled down since then for a myriad of reasons, including a heel injury and Urban Meyer’s reluctance to give him a bigger workload.

Last week, the first without Meyer calling the shots, Robinson toted the rock 18 times for 75 yards. You could make the case the former Illinois State standout should get an even heavier workload in Week 16, as the Jets have one of the worst run defenses in the league. This should be a favorable matchup for both Robinson and the Jaguars.

2. Tight end James O’Shaughnessy, first touchdown scorer (+3,000).

The Jaguars will be without wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. after placing him on the COVID-19/Reserve list. Tavon Austin and Laquon Treadwell should get more playing time as a result, but tight end James O’Shaughnessy may have a bigger role than either player. Against the Houston Texans, he led the team in receiving yards, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence may favor him often in Week 16.

Shaughnessy has caught four passes in each of the last two games. He should get a similar amount against the Jets.

3. Wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., 54 receiving yards or more (-115).

Veteran Marvin Jones Jr.‘s production has been inconsistent this season but that’s not entirely his fault. Without any other threats in the Jaguars’ passing game, opposing defenses have been able to devote extra attention to him.

Against the Texans, Jones only had two receptions for 14 yards but he hauled in six receptions for 70 yards the game before. He’s only gone over 54 receiving yards for times this season but he’s a good bet to surpass that amount in Week 16, as the Jets’ defense ranks 27th in the league in yards passing yards allowed.
