Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts in Week 18.

Earlier this season, it seemed like the Jaguars and the Colts would be bad, as they both lost their first three games. However, things have changed significantly, as Indy has gone on to win eight games and is a good bet to sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card. Meanwhile, the Jags have managed to win two games in the same span.

Under Frank Reich, the Colts have won at least ten games in two of the last three seasons and they’re two away from reaching the threshold once again in 2021. Although Carson Wentz isn’t an upper-echelon quarterback he’s avoided making mistakes and has put the offense in a position to score. Also, running back Jonathan Taylor is playing at a high level and is a darkhorse candidate for MVP honors in 2021. He could be the first non-quarterback player that wins the award since fellow running back Adrian Peterson did in 2012.

The Colts already beat the Jaguars early this year but they allowed them to come back from behind and nearly pull off the offseason. They can’t afford to take them lightly in the season finale, so who will win the matchup? This writer is taking the Jags because by then, Darrell Bevell will have had enough time to make enough tweaks to the offense, which will lead to more points and a win in Week 18.

The Colts are the better team right now but the Jags’ defense will step up like they did against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 and Trevor Lawrence will make a couple of key throws to move the chains.
