The Jacksonville Jaguars cleaned house this offseason in an effort to turn things around and start winning games, something they’ve struggled to do in recent years. Their rebuilding project is only getting started though and they will continue making changes in 2022.

The Jags will have an ample amount of cap space and draft picks next year, so they will be able to bring in a handful of impact contributors. On the other hand, they won’t be able to retain all their players that are set to become free agents in 2022, so they will have to decide whom to keep and whom to let way.

In particular, these Jaguars could be looking for new homes next offseason.

1. Jaguars player who could find a new home in 2022 – RG A.J. Cann

Right guard A.J. Cann has been a fixture of the Jaguars’ offensive line since being drafted in 2015. He has appeared in 95 games with 94 starts and has been serviceable for the most part. However, he’s out for the year after suffering a knee injury in Week 4. Second-year offensive lineman Ben Bartch took his spot in the lineup and will probably stay there for the remainder of the season.

The Jaguars need to upgrade their offensive line next offseason and it may make more sense to use a second- or third-round draft selection on a guard than bringing back Cann, even if he won’t command a top salary.

Also, Cann wasn’t playing well before his injury, posting a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 45.9 in 2021. In 134 pass-blocking snaps, he allowed 11 pressures. Out of all the Jaguars set to become free agents in 2022, the veteran right guard may be the least likely to return.
