Jaguars player that must product vs. Bills No. 3 – CB Tyson Campbell

Rookie Tyson Campbell has become a regular of these lists. You could argue that it’s unfair to put too much on his plate so early in his career but the truth is that the Jaguars want precisely that. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have traded Sidney Jones before the start of the season and C.J. Henderson after Week 3.

In fact, you could make the case that the team plugged Campbell in the starting lineup because they believe he will become a playmaker. The Jags are willing to let the former Georgia Bulldog learn on the fly and go through all the growing pains related to the position during his first year in the NFL. You may have probably heard that pressure either makes diamonds or busts pipes. It will be interesting to see what ends up happening to the young corner.

Campbell had shown progress throughout the season but has also struggled at times. Against the Seahawks, he was tasked with covering wide receiver Tyler Lockett for most of the game. The rookie corner was targeted six times and gave up four passes, including a 22-yard reception that helped set up Seattle’s first touchdown of the game. On the bright side, he was credited with a pass defensed. He needs to continue to show growth against the Bills in Week 9.
