The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to bounce back in Week 9 after losing 31-7 to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. Next on their schedule are the 5-2 Buffalo Bills.

You could argue that this game will be even more difficult than last week’s. Led by quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills have the top offense in the NFL. They also have the best defense in the league, allowing an average of 12 points per game. The fact that they’ve shut down the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans may skew the statistics a bit but even if you don’t count those two games, they still have a pretty good defense.

Meanwhile, the Jags are coming off one of arguably the most frustrating losses in the 2021 season. They had just had their BYE and looked like a solid team after beating the Dolphins in Week 6. All the progress they’ve made in the first six weeks of the season was undone against Seattle. They looked sloppy, overmatched, and were plagued by penalties. To add insult to injury, running back James Robinson exited the game with an ankle injury. The good news is it’s that serious and is currently day-to-day.

Jacksonville only avoided being shut down because Trevor Lawrence connected with wide receiver Jamal Agnew in the last few minutes of the game. The fact that they managed to score seven points doesn’t make the loss any less embarrassing though.

Jaguars vs Bills Week 9 prediction.

After suffering a blowout at Lumen Field, it’s difficult to pick the Jags for this game. Up until Week 8, they have steadily improved but they took a significant step back against the Hawks. Linebacker Myles Jack says there’s plenty of time left to fix the issues the team is going through. But it’s hard to see them getting back on track against the Bills’ high-powered offense.

The Jags will take a few steps in the right direction and won’t be blown out in consecutive weeks. However, they won’t be able to keep up with Buffalo and will start a losing streak.
