The 2021 NFL trade deadline is less than a week away and it doesn’t seem like the Jacksonville Jaguars will make any moves in the upcoming days. In a way, it makes sense. The Jags are currently 1-5 and aren’t in a position to compete for a playoff spot, so the front office may not be interested in parting ways with any future assets.

On the other hand, the Jaguars should consider making a few trades. There are several positions that could use a boost. The offensive line would surely welcome some depth. Both the wide receiver corps and the cornerback room could also use some help. With that in mind, here are five dream trade targets ahead of the deadline.

Jaguars dream trade target No. 1 – Marlon Mack, RB

The Jaguars have a stud in running back James Robinson. They also have a serviceable backup in Carlos Hyde. Nevertheless, they could use some depth at the position and Marlon Mack may be one of the best players available.

The fifth-year running back has been the subject of trade talks ahead of the deadline. As recently as 2019, he toted the rock 247 times for 1,091 yards with eight touchdowns. However, injuries and the presence of Jonathan Taylor have made him an afterthought in the Indianapolis Colts’ backfield.

A fourth-round selection in the 2017 draft, Mack has spent his whole career in Indy. He’s appeared in just six games over the last two years and racked up 32 carries for 127 yards and no touchdowns. He would probably welcome a chance of scenery.

Running back would be one of the Jaguars’ deepest position groups if Travis Etienne hadn’t suffered a Lisfranc injury during the preseason but he did and the team should err on the side of caution and add depth to ensure Robinson stays fresh for the remainder of the season.
