Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 Titans who could spell trouble in Week 5
Rivalry games are always tough and competitive, and there will be several things at stake in the Jacksonville Jaguars matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The Jags are sitting on a 19-game losing streak. They’re also trying to put behind the controversy surrounding the Urban Meyer video that went viral. It’s fair to say that a win in Week 5 would be huge.
Meanwhile, the Titans will try to hold on to their narrow lead in the division. Their 2-2 record is the best in the AFC South and a loss in Jacksonville would be a significant blow. The Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans have an identical 1-3 record, and if either team wins in Week 5, they would be tied with Tennesse.
Also, the Jags haven’t beat the Titans since Week 3 of the 2019 season. Coincidentally, that was the last game All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey played in Jacksonville. Even though Tennesse is favored to win the game by four points, they aren’t performing at a high level on either side of the ball. Their offense ranks 14th in points scored, and their defense is currently 26th in points allowed. Of course, this won’t be an easy game, and the Jaguars will need to play even better than they did in Week 4, when they were close to beating the Cincinnati Bengals.
One thing that could tip the scale in the Jaguars’ favor is the Titans players who won’t suit up for the game. The most meaningful one will be wide receiver Julio Jones, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Then again, this will be a tough game even without Jones. If the Jaguars want to put an end to their losing streak and earn their first victory in more than a year, they will need to keep these five Titans in check.
