You can ask any NFL head coach or player, and they will tell you they’ll take an ugly win over a competitive loss. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars have shown signs of progress over the last couple of weeks and could be closing to earning their first victory of the 2021 season.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has displayed tangible improvement over the last few weeks. Against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4, he didn’t throw the ball over for the first time in the regular season. Also, the coaching staff is (deservingly) giving second-year running back James Robinson a bigger workload after not getting him involved in the first two games of the season.

Now, the Jags are far from perfect and have their work cut off. Otherwise, they would have already won their first game of the year. They will have another chance to get that “W” when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to TIAA Bank Field in Week 5.

Jaguars vs Titans Prediction Week 5.

The Jags are trending up, and looked way better than they did in the season opener, when they couldn’t even properly line up and had to burn their time outs just get their plays out. Meanwhile, the Tennesse Titans are coming off a shocking loss to the previously winless New York Jets. The Gang Green sacked Ryan Tannehill a staggering seven times, and their defense had no answer for quarterback Zach Wilson and the Jets’ offense.

If the Jaguars can contain Titans running back Derrick Henry they have a realistic shot at winning the game. It’s easier said than done but Jacksonville’s run defense has improved this year. Also, Jacksonville’s offense will need to score more than 21 points in Week 5, something they haven’t done in the 2021 regular season yet.

Final score: Jaguars 27 – Titans 24
