The Jacksonville Jaguars started their Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos with a bang, scoring a touchdown pass in the very first drive of the game.

Nobody would have blamed you if you thought the Jaguars would struggle against the Denver Broncos. After all, looked underwhelmed against the Houston Texans in the season opener. However, the Jags are proving that they moved on and were the first team to score Sunday.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw a 25-yard pass to wide receiver Marvin Jones to give the Jaguars a 7-0 lead. The rookie led an 11-play, 83-yard drive. He also completed passes to James O’Shaugnessy and wide receiver Laviska Shenault.

Lawrence was 5-of-7 for 73 yards in the drive. Running back James Robinson also toted the rock three times for 10 yards while Jones hauled in four receptions for 49 yards and the aforementioned touchdown pass. Here’s Lawrence’s touchdown pass to the veteran wide receiver.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are mostly playing disciplined football.

This was a pretty efficient drive by the Jaguars. Last week, they had a hard time getting their offense going. They looked unprepared and slow. Thus, it’s refreshing to see they can be competitive. It’s true that Viska was flagged for a false start but other than that, the Jags’ offense is looking significantly better than last week.

Keep in mind that last week, Jacksonville scored a touchdown until their possession. By then, they were already trailing. Also, it’s good to see Robinson getting the ball often. Against the Texans, the former Redbird only got five carries. In the first drive alone, he’s already got three. If the Jaguars keep feeding him the ball and keep penalties at a minimum, they will have a legitimate shot to pull the offset.

Also, the Jags’ defense needs to do its part and force a couple of turnovers. They currently lead 7-3, they can’t afford to fall behind.
