Jacksonville Jaguars top 5 players on roster under 25 years old

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the early stages of a rebuild. Thus, it’s not surprising to find out that they have the fourth-youngest roster in the NFL, per Indianapolis Colts beat writer Andrew Walker. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They simply don’t have as many veterans as other clubs.

Former general manager David Caldwell wasn’t really good at acquiring or keeping playmakers. However, he had a few hits in the past couple of years and some of the players he drafted will have a big impact in 2021. In fact, some of the biggest difference-makers on the Jaguars’ roster haven’t turned 25 yet.

Here are the top five Jaguars players under 25. Keep in mind that no rookie made the list since none of them haven’t taken a snap in the NFL yet.

1. Daniel Thomas – Jacksonville Jaguars safety

You might remember your high school coaches tell you that football is a contact sport but that’s not quite right, “collision sport” is a far more accurate description. Last season, the Jaguars took a beating on the football field and they missed several players to injuries, including safety Daniel Thomas.

The Auburn product worked his way up the depth chart and joined the starting lineup in Week 10. However, he suffered an arm injury the following game that cut his rookie season short. The 23-year-old safety showed flashes in 2020 and should compete for playing time.

Even though the team drafted Andre Cisco in this year’s selection meeting, Thomas will see a significant amount o playing time in 2021.
