The Jacksonville Jaguars took advantage of the vast amount of cap space and surplus of draft picks this offseason. They made several moves that should have an immediate impact. The most meaningful one was drafting quarterback Trevor Lawrence. However, there are other additions, such as cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Rayshawn Jenkins that should also play a key role in 2021.

Also, the Jags will count on a few returning players to perform at a high level this upcoming season. Here are four that are guaranteed to be better.

1. DaVon Hamilton – Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle

The Jaguars had to overly depend on rookies last season because they had nobody else they could turn to. Had they had a bit more talent, their 2020 draft class might not have seen the field as much. Defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton was one of those players the team was forced to call upon, and he didn’t disappoint.

The Ohio State product started the year on the bench but worked his way up the depth chart. After Week 3, he never played less than 30 defensive snaps and finally made his first start in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in Week 12 and missed the rest of the year.

Although Hamilton may have to compete for a starting job and playing time once again, he should be able to pick up where he left off last year. The Jaguars’ 2020 draft class recently got a positive grade, and the former Buckeye is a reason why.
