In retrospect, it’s not too difficult to figure out why the Jacksonville Jaguars went 1-15. They didn’t have the right leadership, injuries hit the team hard but more importantly, the Jags didn’t have enough playmakers. The cupboard wasn’t totally bare though. After all, rookie running back James Robinson showed he was a keeper, linebacker Myles Jack was his efficient self and center Brandon Linder was one of the best centers in the NFL.

Nevertheless, there wasn’t enough talent in place to win games on a consistent basis. Therefore, the Jaguars — now with head coach Urban Meyer at the helm — fortified most positional groups in free agency and the draft. They now have a potential franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence and the skilled-position units look like a strength ahead of the 2021 season. Also, the defense should be able to stop opposing offenses and force a few turnovers after all the upgrades the Jaguars made in free agency.

On the other hand, the Jaguars could still sign a few players before training camp. They led the league in cap space earlier this year and even after all their free-agency additions, they still have $38.49 million to spend, per Over the Cap. Jacksonville has yet to sign their rookie class but even if you take that into account, they have more than enough money to land one player or two.

There are a few free agents still available and these four could make an impact for the Jaguars in the 2021 season.
