After winning just one game in 2020, the Jacksonville Jaguars have given their roster a makeover this offseason. Their most significant addition was quarterback Trevor Lawrence. They made other moves that will not garner as many headlines but were important nonetheless. Signing Marvin Jones Jr. to round out their wide receiver corps comes to mind, and so does drafting offensive tackle Walker Little, who could end up pushing veteran Cam Robinson.

All these acquisitions will help the Jags improve in 2021, but they will also need several returning players to play at a high level. After all, Jacksonville lacked talent last season but the cupboard wasn’t completely bare. There were some talented players but the team’s brass didn’t put them in a position to succeed. Quite often, the Jaguars fell behind early and couldn’t keep up with opposing offenses. This had a negative impact on the defense too, as it had to stay on the field more than it should.

On the bright side, head coach Doug Marrone got the boot this offseason and the organization hired Urban Meyer to take his place. Although it sounds cliché, the former Florida head coach is changing the culture and ensuring players have everything they need to succeed. Meyer is making sure players access to the best diets, the best training available, and the best recovery. Moreover, the team proposed a plan for a $441 million project that includes a practice facility.

All these changes will help the Jaguars win more games in 2021. They will also need these three players to avoid taking a step back.
