After searching for years without much luck, the Jacksonville Jaguars have found a franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence. Nobody will argue football is a team sport and whoever builds a well-rounded squad will have a strong chance to have lasting success. On the other hand, there’s a reason franchises are always looking for an upper-echelon signal-caller.

Look at the Seattle Seahawks or the Green Bay Packers. Even though neither team has won a Super Bowl in recent years, they are perennial playoff contenders and it’s no coincidence that both squads have an elite signal-caller. Russell Wilson for the Seahawks and Aaron Rodgers in the Packers’ case.

Now, the Jags are in the early stages of a rebuild. While they may not be a playoff team just yet, they have their quarterback of the future, which will go a long way toward having long-term stability. As they learned in 2017, you could build an elite defense and even make the conference championship but all it takes is a few years and free agency to tear the unit apart.

Meanwhile, a top 5 quarterback will make everyone around him better and will give you the chance to keep up with opposing teams. Although is too early to anoint Lawrence as the next best thing, the odds of him succeeding in the NFL are higher than the ones of him failing.

What about the teams the Jaguars will face off against in 2021, how good is their quarterback? Here’s a ranking of the signal-callers this Jacksonville team will play against in 2021.
