The Jacksonville Jaguars have gotten mixed results from the running back position in recent seasons. On one hand, Leonard Fournette had two 1,000-yard seasons before he was released last year and James Robinson also surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark as a rookie last season. On the other hand, they ranked 31st in rushing touchdowns in 2020 and dead last the year before.

It’s true that Robinson had the most scrimmage yards (1,414) by an undrafted rookie in NFL history but the Jags needed more from the running back position, so they used the 25th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft on Travis Etienne. Moreover, they signed veteran Carlos Hyde in free agency, so the unit is going to look very different this upcoming season.

Last season, five different running backs had at least one carry for the Jaguars and it will be interesting to see how many they will carry into the season, considering that Robinson, Etienne, and Hyde are pretty much locks to make the team and there are currently seven running backs listed on the roster:

Ryquell Armstead

Nathan Cottrell

Devine Ozigbo

Dare Ogunbowale

Carlos Hyde

James Robinson

Travis Etienne

In the meantime, here’s a power ranking of the Jaguars running back after the draft and ahead of training camp.
